Poetry: Crimson

Burning hot crimson red flames

dancing around her as she sleeps

Her white gown is singed black

She wakes to his shadow

She screams for his help

He strokes the match

He laughs at her fear

Stoking the fire with his laughter

Crimson red rages around her

It quickly fades to black

The darkness deafens her

The black opaque dust settles

She is gone

He sweeps the ashes off the floor

Throws them to the wind

She was gone

He shuts the window

Pulls the blinds

Puts away the matches

And drinks a beer.
